The Boardman ADV-E 9.2 builds on the award-winning ADV platform, bringing electric assist into a lightweight, adventure-ready package. At the heart of the bike is the Mahle X20 drive system, one of the lightest and most discreet e-bike systems available. The rear hub motor delivers up to 55Nm of torque with natural-feeling assistance, powered by a fully integrated 250Wh battery hidden within the frame. With its slim profile and near-silent operation, it’s difficult to tell at first glance that this is an e-bike.
Control is handled through the compact iWoc One head unit on the top tube, which allows quick access to assistance levels and battery status. For deeper integration, the Mahle MySmartBike app lets you connect via your smartphone, turning it into a live display and allowing you to monitor rides, adjust performance settings, and track training data.
Shifting comes courtesy of SRAM’s Apex AXS 1x12 wireless groupset. With no cables to worry about, it offers clean looks and crisp, reliable shifting. The 11-44T cassette provides a wide gear range for tackling everything from steep gravel climbs to fast road sections. Riders can also connect the groupset to the SRAM AXS app, customising controls and monitoring battery status.
The ADV-E 9.2 rolls on Boardman alloy wheels, tubeless-ready for easy conversion, paired with 40mm Goodyear Connector gravel tyres. These tyres feature tightly spaced centre knobs for speed and aggressive side knobs for cornering grip, making them ideal for mixed terrain riding. Comfort and control are enhanced by flared alloy handlebars and a Boardman saddle designed for long-distance efficiency.
