The Cannondale Synapse Carbon 2 is an endurance road bike that blends race-ready tech with comfort-focused features for riders who go the distance. At its heart is a lightweight Synapse Carbon frame, shaped for compliance and speed using Proportional Response construction, which means every size is tuned to deliver the same confident ride feel. Add in StashPort storage tucked into the downtube and you've got space for ride essentials without cluttering your frame.
Key Features:
- Carbon frame with Proportional Response design and integrated StashPort storage
- Full carbon fork with Delta steerer and internal routing
- Shimano Ultegra Di2 12-speed electronic drivetrain
- Shimano Ultegra R8170 hydraulic disc brakes
- DT Swiss ERC 45 carbon wheels with Rubino Pro IV 32c tyres
- C1 Aero Carbon seatpost and Vision Trimax aero bars
- Available with 0% APR finance
Up front, the carbon fork with a Delta steerer enhances front-end stiffness and precision, while full internal routing keeps the lines clean and aerodynamic. The geometry is relaxed enough for big mile days yet still sharp when you want to push the pace.
The standout feature here is the Shimano Ultegra Di2 12-speed groupset. With wireless shifting, the system offers lightning-fast, finger-light gear changes with incredible accuracy even under load. It’s paired with an 11-34 cassette and compact 50/34 chainset, giving you the range to climb, cruise, and descend with total control.
Braking is equally impressive thanks to Shimano’s Ultegra R8170 hydraulic disc brakes, using 160mm rotors front and rear for consistent, confidence-inspiring stopping power in all weather conditions.
Rolling on DT Swiss ERC 45 carbon wheels, the Synapse Carbon 2 is fast on the flats and steady in crosswinds, with a 45mm rim depth and 24mm inner width for wide-tyre support. It comes fitted with Vittoria Rubino Pro IV 32c tyres, striking a smart balance of grip, comfort and speed.
Comfort and performance are finely balanced with the Cannondale C1 Aero 27 carbon seatpost, designed for aerodynamic gain without sacrificing flex. Meanwhile, the Fizik Vento Argo X5 saddle offers ergonomic support, ideal for longer days in the saddle.
Finished with SmartSense compatibility for lights and radar tech, and practical touches like mudguard mounts, the Synapse Carbon 2 is ready for serious road cyclists looking to level up their ride without compromising on comfort or performance.
Occasionally, without notice, manufacturers change product design and/or specifications.

* Mountain bikes are sized differently to road bikes. Typically, they are sized in inches as the first MTBs were produced in the USA. European brands like Lapierre and Haibike like to use centimetres for all their bikes. The measurements of their mountain bikes doesn’t match their road bikes but are like a simple conversion from the inches measurement. This is why we have included cm measurements in brackets for the Mountain bike column.
Read our bike size guide for more information on sizing.
