As a keen cyclist I have always tried to keep up with the latest standards, so when I got my latest bike I opted for one with a PF BB. and it creaked. So I replaced the plastic cups with aluminium ones and.... it creaked, so I got a set of thread together wheels manufacturing cups, they were fine for a while but soon enough they once again began to creak. All the time I was trying to fix the problem my old bike, now being used as a daily commuter with an almost 10 year old crank set and 3 year old BSA treaded BB bearings was still running smoothly and quietly. Now thanks to this converter so does my new bike. Fitting is easy with any bearing press, even a DIY one, stick the converter in the freezer for half an hour before fitting and it goes in easy. The literature that came with it claims that (with the right tool) it can be removed BUT I would consider it a permanent part of the frame, It was such a tight fit I doubt it would come out easy if at all, so be sure you really want to do it as it could potentially limit your choice of cranks in the future, although with SRAM`s new (almost) universal DUB system, Shimano showing no signs of dropping the 24mm spindle, and the fact nobody really likes press fit I think you will be safe for a good while yet.
