The Defy Advanced Pro 1 is built for riders who want performance and comfort to go hand in hand. Its Advanced-Grade composite frame keeps weight low while maintaining a responsive ride feel. Designed specifically for endurance road riding, the frame balances stiffness for efficient power transfer with carefully engineered compliance to reduce fatigue over longer distances.
The Advanced SL-Grade composite fork features a full composite OverDrive Aero steerer for precise front-end stiffness and accurate steering. Together with the endurance geometry, it creates a confident ride position that feels stable on long descents and relaxed over extended hours in the saddle.
Comfort comes from Giant’s D-Fuse components, including the Contact SLR D-Fuse handlebar and D-Fuse SL carbon seatpost. Their flattened profile allows controlled flex to absorb road vibrations while maintaining efficiency when climbing or accelerating.
The drivetrain uses SRAM Rival AXS E1 wireless electronic shifting, offering smooth, precise gear changes with minimal setup. A 46/33T chainset paired with a 10-36 cassette gives a wide range of gears for steep climbs and fast group riding. The integrated power meter provides useful training data for riders tracking their effort.
Stopping power comes from SRAM Rival AXS hydraulic disc brakes with 160mm rotors front and rear, delivering consistent braking performance in changing conditions.
Rolling on Giant’s SLR 1 40 Carbon Disc WheelSystem, the 40mm deep carbon rims provide a blend of aerodynamic efficiency and predictable handling. Their hookless design and 22.4mm internal width are optimised for wider tyres, and the bike is fitted with Giant Gavia Fondo 0 700x32c tubeless tyres for improved grip, comfort and puncture protection.
With tyre clearance up to 38mm, the Defy Advanced Pro 1 offers flexibility for different road surfaces and conditions. Whether you're tackling endurance sportives, big training miles or exploring rougher back roads, it’s designed to keep you comfortable, efficient and in control from the first kilometre to the last.
