The Merida One-Sixty 400 proves you don’t need a big budget to ride hard. Built around the Lite III aluminium frame, it features next-generation enduro geometry with a slack head angle, long reach and steep seat tube to balance confident descending with efficient climbing. Internal cable routing keeps things neat, while the flip chip allows riders to run either a mullet (29” front / 27.5” rear) or full 29” setup depending on preference. The FAST kinematic suspension design has won awards for its efficiency and plushness, giving traction and control over rough terrain.
Suspension is handled by trusted Marzocchi components. The Z1 Air fork offers 170mm of travel, supporting aggressive riding while soaking up bigger hits. Out back, the Marzocchi Bomber inline shock provides balanced control with a lockout for climbing. Together, they give riders a planted feel for technical descents and confidence over rough trails.
Shimano’s durable CUES U6000 11-speed drivetrain delivers smooth and reliable shifting with a wide 10–50T cassette for tackling steep climbs and flat-out sprints. Braking is handled by SRAM DB4 4-piston disc brakes with oversized 200mm rotors, giving strong, consistent stopping power in all conditions.
The wheels are Merida’s Comp TR II alloy rims, tubeless-ready with Stans tape installed. Sizes up to Medium run a mullet setup for agility, while larger sizes feature 29” wheels front and rear for rollover and stability. Tyres are Maxxis favourites – a 2.5” Minion DHF up front for grip and a Dissector at the rear for speed and control – both tubeless-ready for lower pressures and fewer punctures.
A Merida Expert dropper post (with size-specific travel from 150mm up to 230mm) comes as standard, ensuring the saddle is out of the way when descending. Finishing kit includes a Merida Comp SL saddle with recycled content and a wide alloy handlebar for control.
With its mix of proven suspension, reliable drivetrain and progressive geometry, the Merida One-Sixty 400 is ready for riders who want to build confidence on steep descents, push their skills on enduro trails and enjoy a capable all-rounder without stretching the budget.
