Merida Silex 200 2026 - Gravel Bike

With stable, confidence-boosting handling and generous tyre clearance, the Merida Silex 200 is designed to take you off the beaten track. Its alloy frame, carbon fork and adventure-ready features make it ideal for long days exploring mixed terrain.

- Shimano Essa 1x8 drivetrain for simple, reliable gearing
- Shimano Essa mechanical disc brakes for controlled stopping

- Multiple mounting points for bottles, racks, bags and accessories
- Available with 0% APR finance
The Silex 200 sits in Merida’s gravel line as the go-anywhere, explore-everything option—designed not around road bike geometry, but with principles borrowed from modern mountain bikes. The long top tube, tall head tube and short stem work together to deliver stable, confidence-inspiring handling over loose surfaces and unpredictable terrain. Whether you're tackling forestry tracks, loaded bikepacking missions or relaxed weekend rambles, the Silex feels composed and reassuring.
This second-generation aluminium frame uses smooth-welded, hydroformed 6066 tubing for strength and comfort, with a threaded bottom bracket for easy maintenance and internal cable routing for a clean look. Tyre clearance up to 45 mm (or 42 mm with mudguards) gives plenty of scope to tune grip and comfort for different terrains. Five sets of bottle mounts, rack mounts and compatibility with internally routed dropper posts and even dynamo lighting systems underline the Silex’s adventure focus.
The Silex II full-carbon fork not only reduces road buzz but has been redesigned so riders can swap to a suspension fork without compromising geometry—ideal for more technical off-road riding.
A simple 1x8 Shimano Essa drivetrain paired with an 11–45T cassette delivers a wide range of gears for climbing and cruising, while mechanical disc brakes provide dependable stopping power. Merida’s tubeless-ready Comp SL II wheels allow easy upgrades, and the Maxxis Rambler 45c tyres—known for their fast-rolling centre tread and grippy side knobs—offer solid control on gravel, dirt or rough lanes.
Finished with Merida’s adventure-focused cockpit and a comfortable Comp SL saddle, the Silex 200 is built for riders who value stability, versatility and freedom to explore. Whether you're starting out in gravel riding or planning multi-day escapes, it's a capable and confidence-inspiring companion.
