The Chisel Comp is built for riders who want a quick and controlled cross-country bike without moving to carbon. Its D’Aluisio Smartweld alloy frame uses highly manipulated tubes with varied wall thickness, shaping stiffness into the areas that benefit power transfer while allowing compliance where you need comfort. The result is a lightweight XC chassis with a calm, planted feel on technical singletrack.
A hydroformed one-piece seat tube integrates the seat-stay pivot, main pivot and bottom bracket shell, reducing welded sections and trimming unnecessary material. Internal cable routing keeps the bike tidy, and the flip-chip dropout allows you to fine-tune geometry to suit your preferred handling.
Suspension performance draws from design principles used in the Epic 8. The 110mm rear travel uses a flex-stay layout tuned for efficiency and control, reducing weight and maintenance compared with a multi-pivot structure. Paired with a RockShox Deluxe Select+ shock, the rear end tracks the ground smoothly while maintaining good pedalling support. Up front, the RockShox SID fork brings 120mm of travel with the Rush damper for predictable control on rougher sections.
The SRAM Eagle 70 T-Type drivetrain delivers crisp, reliable shifting under load, while the 10-52T cassette provides a wide gear range for steep climbs and fast open sections. SRAM DB6 hydraulic brakes with four-piston calipers offer steady braking with 180/160mm rotors.
Specialized alloy rims are tubeless ready, with 27mm internal width to support the 2.35in Ground Control and Fast Trak tyres. These give a balanced mix of grip and rolling speed suited to mixed XC conditions. A TranzX dropper post adds confidence on technical descents and helps maintain momentum through changing terrain.
Modern XC geometry places the rider efficiently for climbing while delivering stability on descents and rougher trails. Combined with the frame’s tuned stiffness and efficient kinematics, the Chisel Comp turns rider effort into forward progress while keeping handling predictable.
