The Specialized Chisel has been reimagined as a full suspension XC bike, offering the efficiency and speed of a race bike with the compliance and control needed for modern technical courses. At its heart is a D’Aluisio Smartweld M5 alloy frame, using advanced hydroformed tubing and a one-piece seat tube design to save weight while maintaining stiffness. The result is one of the lightest alloy XC full suspension frames available, offering class-leading efficiency and responsiveness.
Suspension performance is drawn from the World Cup-proven Epic 8 platform, scaled into an alloy package. With 110mm of rear travel via a Ride Dynamics tuned X-Fusion PRO-02 shock and a RockShox Recon Silver RL fork delivering 120mm up front, the Chisel smooths rough terrain without losing the pedal efficiency needed for racing. Flex Stay rear stays reduce weight and simplify maintenance, while still offering traction and control through technical sections.
The drivetrain is SRAM’s NX Eagle 12-speed, giving riders a huge 11–50T range for climbing steep XC tracks and powering along flats. Paired with a stiff NX crankset and durable Powerspline bottom bracket, the shifting is smooth and reliable under pressure. Braking is handled by SRAM DB6 4-piston hydraulic discs with 180mm and 160mm rotors, delivering consistent, confident stopping power.
Wheels are 29” alloy, tubeless-ready with a 27mm inner width, wrapped in Specialized Ground Control (front) and Fast Trak (rear) tyres. This proven XC pairing balances grip, rolling speed and low weight, ideal for race conditions or fast trail laps. A TranzX dropper post adds versatility, making the bike easier to handle on descents and technical trails.
Geometry is progressive yet efficient, with a steep seat tube to position the rider for optimal pedalling, and a slack head angle for stability at speed. Combined with the light weight, this makes the Chisel one of the most efficient pedalling bikes in its category.
