The Checkpoint SL 5 AXS Gen 3 is a true go-anywhere, do-everything gravel bike built with comfort and capability in mind. Its 500 Series OCLV Carbon frame keeps things lightweight and stiff, while Trek’s Gravel Endurance geometry balances stability and responsiveness—ideal for big days out and rougher routes.
This generation includes IsoSpeed rear decoupler technology, which isolates road vibration and trail chatter, giving your body a break over long distances. There’s also clearance for up to 50 mm tyres, giving you the option to upsize for softer terrain or more comfort on unpredictable tracks.
Shifting comes courtesy of the SRAM Apex XPLR AXS drivetrain, offering 12-speed wireless performance with a clean, cable-free setup. The 1x drivetrain is simple and reliable, pairing a 40T chainring with an 11–44T cassette for climbing-ready range without the hassle of a front mech.
Rolling on Bontrager Paradigm SL wheels, the Checkpoint comes tubeless-ready as standard and is equipped with 700x42 mm Bontrager Girona RSL tyres, tuned for traction, speed and puncture protection thanks to their GR tread and reinforced casing.
Designed for loading up and heading off, the frame features internal downtube storage, rack and mudguard mounts, plus dedicated mounts for frame bags. The Bontrager carbon seatpost, Elite Gravel bars, and upright position make this bike as comfortable as it is capable.
