Trek Fuel EX 9 Eagle 90 Gen 7 Mountain Bike 2026 - Trail Full Suspension MTB

The Fuel EX 9 Eagle 90 Gen 7 is Trek’s trail bike, designed to balance climbing efficiency with descending control. At its heart is the Alpha NEXT Platinum aluminium frame, engineered with internal storage, an angle-adjust headset, and adjustable suspension leverage rate. This gives you the freedom to fine-tune geometry and travel (145–160mm), so you can adapt the bike to suit your riding style or trail conditions.
Key Features:
- Alpha NEXT Platinum aluminium frame with adjustable geometry
- RockShox Lyrik Ultimate 150mm fork with Charger 3.1 RC damper
- RockShox Deluxe Ultimate RC2T rear shock, 145mm travel
- SRAM Eagle 90 12-speed drivetrain, T-Type design
- SRAM Maven Bronze 4-piston hydraulic disc brakes
- 29” Bontrager Line Comp 30 wheels with Maxxis Minion tyres
- Internal storage and adjustable suspension leverage rate
- Available with 0% APR finance
Up front, the RockShox Lyrik Ultimate fork delivers 150mm of plush travel with DebonAir+ technology and ButterCups to reduce trail chatter. The Charger 3.1 RC damper provides tuneable compression and rebound adjustments, letting you dial in your suspension for precision control. At the rear, a RockShox Deluxe Ultimate RC2T shock with 145mm of travel ensures smooth performance over rough terrain, keeping traction high and fatigue low on long rides.
The drivetrain features the latest SRAM Eagle 90 T-Type 12-speed system, offering robust shifting that remains smooth under load. A 30T chain set paired with a wide-range 10-52T cassette ensures you have gearing for steep climbs as well as flat-out speed. The SRAM DUB bottom bracket and wide chain line deliver durability and stiffness for efficient power transfer.
Braking comes courtesy of SRAM Maven Bronze 4-piston hydraulic disc brakes, providing serious stopping power with the modulation needed for technical descents. These brakes are designed for confidence when riding steep, rocky, or unpredictable trails.
The bike rolls on 29” Bontrager Line Comp 30 wheels, tubeless-ready and built for strength and reliability. These are paired with Maxxis Minion DHF and DHR II 29x2.5” tyres, tubeless-ready with grippy rubber compounds and reinforced EXO+ casings. Together they deliver the traction and stability needed to charge through corners, rock gardens, and loose terrain.
Other finishing details include a Bontrager Line dropper seat post with 150mm travel for on-the-fly saddle adjustment, a Race Face Turbine bar for precise handling, and a Verse Short Comp saddle for all-day comfort. Internal routing keeps cables neat, while Trek’s ABP (Active Braking Pivot) design enhances suspension performance even under braking.
Occasionally, without notice, manufacturers change product design and/or specifications.

* Mountain bikes are sized differently to road bikes. Typically, they are sized in inches as the first MTBs were produced in the USA. European brands like Lapierre and Haibike like to use centimetres for all their bikes. The measurements of their mountain bikes doesn’t match their road bikes but are like a simple conversion from the inches measurement. This is why we have included cm measurements in brackets for the Mountain bike column.
Read our bike size guide for more information on sizing.
