Shirts
Whether in front of the campfire or in the mountains the flannel shirt has long been a favourite of MTB riders. Traditional flannel shirts are great for wearing post ride or while on home mechanic duties. With high-wicking stretch fabrics modern cycling shirts are perfect for riding too. As an alternative to a lightweight jacket a technical cycling shirt is a great for off-road riding in cooler conditions.
T-Shirts
It’s hard to beat a traditional cotton t-shirt for comfort, so they are the perfect top for wearing after a ride or when you’re just hanging out with your cycling buddies. Unfortunately, cotton doesn’t dry easily, so a cotton tee can be uncomfortable on a long sweaty ride especially when you stop for a break. This is where technical t-shirts come in, as they’re designed for cycling.
Technical T-Shirts
As fabric technology improves technical t-shirts or tech tees are becoming ever more popular for riding in. Ideal for mountain bikers and gravel riders who prefer a more casual look, tech tees are made from rapid wicking fabrics that perform as well as a dedicated cycling jersey. Other features include hidden stash pockets and goggles/glasses wipes. Look for Merino wool if you want the ultimate natural feel without sacrificing any on-the-bike performance.
