Serious Bosch Power

The Bosch Performance CX Gen 4 Smart System* is the drive unit that’s at the heart of every bike in the Marin Alpine Trail E lineup. This beast delivers a whopping 85Nm of torque, giving you powerful pedal assistance that reacts instantly to your moves — enough to conquer even the steepest climbs without breaking a sweat. Dial in your perfect ride with multiple modes using the remote switch right on your handlebar. And if you want more control, tweak the motor’s response and power in each mode through the eBike Flow app.

Massive Battery Capacity

The 750Wh Bosch PowerTube battery on both Alpine Trail E models delivers serious range and performance. Safely tucked away in the downtube but easy to remove, it can be charged on or off the bike. The discreet top tube display and Bluetooth remote switch are designed for simplicity and durability, giving you all the essential info on ride mode and battery capacity without getting in your way.

Hard Hitting Suspension

Equipped with a 170mm Fox 38 (E2) or Marzocchi Z1 (E1) suspension fork up front and a coil shock at the rear, the Alpine Trail E is built to dominate tough terrain. This bike is ready to get wild on the roughest trails, but with all that power on tap, it’s just as eager to tackle long-distance cross-country rides.

Mixed Wheels for Maximum Performance

The Alpine Trail E comes with a “mullet” wheel setup—29” up front and 27.5” in the back. The larger front wheel gives you better roll-over capability and a more stable ride on rough terrain, while the smaller rear wheel provides extra clearance for getting low on steep drops. This setup also delivers quick acceleration and sharp, responsive handling when the trail gets technical.

Tuneable Geometry

The Alpine Trail E is ready to shred straight out of the box, but it’s also fully adjustable to match your riding style and the terrain. By adjusting the lower headset cup, you can tweak the headtube angle by 0.75º from the standard 63º, giving you the option to go steeper or slacker. There’s also a flip chip on the rear shock that lets you raise or lower the bottom bracket height by 5mm and shorten the chainstay by 8mm. With these adjustments, you have six different settings to choose from—go lower and slacker for high-speed stability and steep descents, or higher and steeper for navigating tight, technical turns.

The Marin Alpine Trail E offers supreme capability at affordable price points. If you want to ride more challenging trails or take on long distance adventures then the Alpine Trail E could be the eMTB for you.

*Previous Alpine Trail E versions feature a Shimano EP8 drive unit.
